Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Community Activities Leader will provide oversight for Emerald's Adult Day Services in the delivery of quality of care to seniors and adults with physical and mental disabilities in the communities. The Community Activities Leader will ensure members’ needs are met in terms of personal care, safety and execution of all other program.

Community Activities Leader provides transportation and personal care for senior adults & adults with disabilities on community outings, excursions, to and from the Adult Day Program.

Duties include safety-checking vehicles, following assigned routes & delivering exceptional customer service. No CDL is required.

All Emerald Community Activities Leader Transport Team Members will be trained in safe operation of the wheelchair lifts, transportation safety features, & defensive driving, as well as being, sensitive to the needs of others, HIPAA rules, & situation & response guidelines. Our vision for our team is to provide a timely, safe, & comfortable ride for our members who attend our program.

Community Activities Leader Requirements

•       Valid driver’s license

•       Clean driving record

•       21-years-old with a minimum of 3-5 years driving experience

•       Able to safely lift 50 pounds, push members in wheelchairs for extended periods of time, and have no recent history of back or leg complications.

•       Must pass a criminal background check & a drug and alcohol screening prior to hire, random drug and alcohol screenings thereafter.

•       Respect for and sensitivity to the needs and rights of others, including those with different cultural, racial, sexual orientation, ethnic identities, and physical and mental challenges.

Preferred Requirements

•       PCA or CNA skills are a plus

•       Prior experience working with those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, etc.

Work hours

Our team works 10-hour, 4-day shifts. This enables us to meet the needs of our members while allowing our staff to enjoy 3 days away from the work environment.

Salary

Starting at $20 per hour. Salary is based upon previous experience and education.
